Between the towns of Castagnole, Montemagno and Grana is the area of Montalbera. Here lies the site of the company’s first vineyards, purchased by Luca’s grandfather in 1923. They’re planted with Grignolino (orange), Barbera (pink) and Viognier (yellow), the first ever planted in Piedmont (2006). The land of Casot is famous for its reddish and sandy soil, which gives unique characteristics to Grignolino, such as elegant nose and very dry tannins.
