Montiò


 

Just a few hundred meters from Bric d’Bianc, on the same ridge toward Castagnole, is the hill of Montiò. It’s here, on a 1.4 hectare strip of land, where Luca planted the Barbera used in his Barbera d’Asti Superiore la Regina. Fruit is limited to 5 tons of grapes per hectare. The characteristics of the soil are essentially exactly like the previous vineyard, making for powerful wines, deep in color and well-structured.
